Course description

Learn knife skills at this workshop in Sydney.

Good knife skills are the key to success in the kitchen, once you know the basics, the world of cooking will be opened up to you.

For this course, Chef Jeffrey Simonetta will teach you how to professionally bone, slice, dice, julienne and chiffonade a range of different ingredients.

Your skilfully prepared food will be transformed into a wonderful Mexican feast that you will enjoy for dinner at the end of the class with a glass of wine.

Course content
  • Each student will receive a Kasumi Japanese utility knife to take home (valued at $149)
  • Bone and break down a chicken (one per student)
  • Prepare a selection of fresh vegetables
  • Demonstration on how to pin-bone, remove skin and portion a side of salmon
  • The class will then use the expertly prepared produce to create a meal

Relax at the end of the session with dinner and a glass of wine.

Please note: Street parking is very limited nearby. You might try St Margaret’s Car Park at 417-435 Bourke Street, Surry Hills. It is a 5-minute walk from the venue, with casual parking rates after 5pm at approx. $4/hour.

On the day...
  • We’ve cut out disposable plastics, so please bring your own food containers to take any leftovers home
  • All participants must wear closed-in shoes – no high heels please!
  • Aprons supplied, but dress appropriately for the kitchen, and tie back long hair
  • Arrive a little early as the class will start on time
