Celebrate the season with a twist of tradition and a dash of good bacteria! Join author and wholefood educator Marcea Klein for a hands-on morning of festive fermenting, where you’ll learn to transform seasonal organic produce into delicious, probiotic-rich treats.

In this special festive edition of our popular Fermenting and Pickling for the Seasons course, you’ll:

  • Make a savoury probiotic salsa or chutney – perfect for festive platters
  • Create a second savoury ferment – either fruit- or vegetable-based, using seasonal ingredients
  • Watch a demonstration of a refreshing probiotic fruit drink, with an option to make it lightly fizzy
  • Enjoy a tasting of a probiotic dessert, also demonstrated during the workshop

You’ll also enjoy a tasting of samples prepared in advance, and take home two jars of your own festive creations to care for and enjoy later.

What will be covered in this Festive Ferments course?

  • The history and health benefits of wild fermentation and natural pickling
  • Which seasonal fruits and vegetables work best
  • How to safely sterilise jars and containers
  • Practical tips, techniques and recipes for adding ferments to your festive meals
  • How to create your own ferments and pickles at home with confidence
