In this writing workshop, you will be guided through the unwritten rules of how to write children’s picture book texts, including:

  • planning your story using the forms and format that publishers like
  • developing your characters and their worlds
  • sharpening your style, using language in ways that children love
  • how to professionally develop your writing to attract publishers.

This is an interactive workshop, with lots of Q&A opportunities. Practical writing exercises will be undertaken in class to hone your writing skills. Through a combination of tutoring, class interactions, questions and answers, you will come away from the workshop with an understanding of where you want to be between Roald Dahl and Enid Blyton!
