Learn how to use Video Calling Platforms with our Free Tech Savvy Seniors courses in Sydney.

Video calls have quickly become a normal way of having face-to-face meetings with others, whether for personal conversations, online education, or commercial meetings. Video conferencing platforms like Skype, Zoom, Facetime, Facebook Messenger all let you converse face to face with people in real-time – and for free!

We offer a free, short, and friendly structured series of courses designed for people 60 years and older that will open the door to the world of digital technology. Tech Savvy Seniors Course is a government-funded program designed to assist seniors to acquire the basic technical skills required in everyday life in the digital age.

This ”Introduction to Video Calling” course is designed for complete beginners as well as current users of social media who want to know about the many facilities and features on offer.

This workshop introduces you to some of the popular video call programs and apps, what they offer, using them, and customising the settings for privacy and security.

Can I video chat with more than one person at a time? How do I know that the other person can hear or see me? How do I make sure I present well and can be heard clearly? Is it secure? How do I find and connect to old friends?

Don’t worry. The experienced tutor will gladly answer your questions using simple relatable language and you will do simple exercises to build your confidence.

This and other courses in the series are designed to assist you with 'everyday' tasks such as communication, social media, online safety awareness, entertainment and simply keeping your documents and correspondence organised.

These workshops are supported by the Department of Family and Community Services, State Training Services, and the Department of Education and Communities.
