Learn to manage your digital assets with our free Tech Savvy Seniors courses in Sydney!

Digital assets include all data and information that belongs to you or is about you which is stored on your phone, computer, or online at different websites such as banks and social media with which you have interacted. Digital assets can be very important and valuable.

Your digital assets may include things such as:

  • the documents and files saved on your computer and devices
  • your passwords to important websites, such as your bank or superannuation fund
  • material that you’ve posted on social media, such as Facebook
  • your emails
  • photos and videos which may have been uploaded to the “cloud”.

We offer a short and friendly structured series of free courses designed for people 60 years and older that will open the door to the world of digital technology.

Tech Savvy Seniors Course is a government-funded program designed to assist seniors to acquire the basic technical skills required in everyday life in the digital age.

The Managing Digital Assets course will cover ways to simply organise and manage your files; tips for computer & device maintenance that will keep them performing efficiently for longer; how to set up backup systems in case of damage, loss, theft, or fire; how to include online assets as part of your end-of-life planning.

Can I make new folders to sort things my way? How do I use my computer’s file management system? How can I easily sort and reorganize all my files? What happens with my online bank details and social media stuff if I am incapacitated? No question is too basic. That’s what we are here for.

Don’t worry. The experienced tutor uses simple relatable language and you will do simple exercises that will build your confidence.

This and other courses in the series are designed to assist you with ‘everyday’ tasks such as communication, social media, online safety awareness, entertainment and simply keeping your documents and correspondence organised.

These workshops are supported by the Department of Family and Community Services, State Training Services, and the Department of Education and Communities.
