Learn Acting for Beginners (Level 2) with our acting & drama courses in Sydney.
Sydney Community College is proud to present this course in partnership with Darlo Drama, which will extend your skills, connect to a partner and build your craft.
This course is an investigation into naturalistic acting & drama techniques that will make your performances more convincing.
The first few weeks are spent exploring theatre and acting techniques through drama games and improvisation exercises. Once the scripts are handed out, you will be working with a scene partner and find out what happens on stage when someone talks back.
Level 2 culminates in an evening performance on Darlo Drama’s Studio Theatre stage!
Course outcomes
By the end of this course, you will be able to:

- be more confident in performing in front of an audience
- connect more vocally and physically to a character
- understand basic script analysis
- understand objectives, obstacles and actions

- perform on Darlo Drama’s Theatre stage to an audience of family, friends and fellow students!

Those who have completed the Acting for Beginners or Acting – Improvisation Classes for Beginners with this College or similar.

Darlo Drama is located on Oxford Square, which is right at the intersection of Riley Street and Oxford Street, in the heart of Darlinghurst.
Public transport
We are a five-minute walk from Museum Railway Station, straight up Oxford Street and a multitude of bus routes travel right passed our front door.
Parking
For those preferring to drive to Darlo Drama, street parking is available in the streets surrounding the school, but they are mostly metered and have a two-hour limit.
Most of our students prefer to park at Wilson Parking on Riley St, which is a short walk from Darlo Drama.
Wilson’s evening parking rate of $8 flat fee applies for entry AFTER 5pm and exit BEFORE 10pm.
