Course materials
What to bring to class:
- In the first week, students will discuss ideas for creating a repeating design using their own artwork. It may be helpful to bring along 1–5 illustrations you’ve made at home (drawn with ink, pen, pencil, watercolour, gouache, etc.), or photos and images you’d like to work with or use as inspiration. Some of these may be scanned and used in your print during later weeks.
- A selection of your own illustrations (1–5), which may include hand-drawn designs or photographs that you’d like to use as source material for your prints.
- A hard drive or USB (min. 16GB) to store your files.
- A device with Adobe Illustrator installed, along with an active Illustrator license. Alternatively, you can log in to your Adobe account on one of our classroom computers. Please note that the college does not provide Adobe licenses.
Tip: Adobe currently offers a 7-day free trial of Illustrator, which may be useful if you’re deciding whether to subscribe.
