What you'll learn
Turn your house into a greenhouse home with our gardening short courses in Sydney!
Create indoor green spaces by transforming your place into a clean, green purifying machine, to bring visual life into the living spaces, not for just a momentary sense of nature, but to bring a permanent presence of the whole outdoors inside.
We know that plants are scientifically proven to improve our health, productivity and creativity, and plants also help to calm us down in this fast-paced world, but there’s so much more than reducing stress! Plants are the natural anti-depressants of life - they bring joy and a sense of wonder and well-being to all our personal mental and physical health.
Plants sharpen attention and drive mindfulness of our interactions with our immediate surroundings. Plants in the workspace increase both productivity and creativity — a view of plant life will improve everyone’s job satisfaction.
Plants are therapeutic — practitioners are constantly using the therapeutic benefits of horticultural therapy to increase feelings of well-being among people with depression, anxiety, dementia, and other conditions. Plants help you recover from illness faster and plants can increase your tolerance to pain.
Plants are 24-hour air purifiers. Actually, this one is a myth. NASA did do one study on the role of houseplants in cleansing the air, in a sealed environment like a spacecraft, and found some benefit. But we don't live in a sealed environment - we open doors and windows and breathe the air. But we can share that list of specialist 'decontamination' plants.
Plants reduce fatigue — plants provide a visual massage that lets us get out of our heads and think about another beautiful living creature that stays, grows, and doesn’t bring us grief. COVID boomed into a persistent love for house plants, and that’s not going to go away anytime soon.
In this class, you will access fundamental aspects and a bunch of insider tips, and we will grow some plants, and share the love. Pets will break the bank, trust me on that, and a house plant, well, it just keeps on giving at no extra cost. So, you will start with a few plants, and then build a collection that resonates with who you are, to thrive into, in a thoughtful way.
