Crochet is one of the oldest crafts in the world and many different items and garments can be crocheted. Learning to crochet unlocks limitless possibilities as well as having many health and wellbeing benefits. As research has shown, the effect that the repetitive motion of crochet has on the mind has led to the craft being labelled as the new 'mental yoga'.
This crochet course makes learning the craft fun and easy. You will learn the basics of crochet, such as how to hold the hook and yarn, create a chain, and crochet basic stitches. By learning to crochet, you will have the opportunity to partake in various different projects, as well as relax in a mindful and rhythmic activity.
Our crochet course is limited to 8 places, which enables the tutor to give each student plenty of one-to-one guidance and instruction.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this crochet course, you should be able to:
- Create the basic crochet stitches
- Attempt to finish a granny square
- Learn how to read a pattern

- How to change colours on a project

- Introduction to online resources and a practical guide to yarn buying
- Finishing off your piece
