Shelalagh McGovern

Shelalagh McGovern

Sha is the director and co-founder of Aerialize - Sydney Aerial Theatre. Aerialize is an aerial performance company that provides unique aerial theatre and instruction for corporations and the wider community. Aerialize was founded in October 1999 and has built a solid reputation as a leading-edge performance group in Sydney, Australia. Shelalagh is the artistic director and one of the key performers in Aerialize. She teaches aerial skills to adults and children. She has a background in dance and gymnastics, performing in state gymnastic competitions during her school years. Shelalagh has ten years of aerial training and performance experience.

Bel Macedone

Bel completed her BA of Creative Arts and Masters of Teaching six years ago and then co-founded the production company Redhanded Theatre Company, where she remains co-director. Bel has been performing with Aerialize for the past two years and also instructs their teenage class. Her performances include:

  • 2006 – Triple trapeze Waiting for Guiness @ the Studio (Sydney Opera House)
  • 2006 - Gang Festival (Gang Incorporated) Production manager / performer. Aerials (event launch) and stilts (festival day)
  • 2005 – Various stilt-walking
  • 2005 - The King’s Stilts - Aerial / Stilt Performer (Aerialize – Sydney Aerial Theatre)
  • 2005 – Theatresports Cranston Cup Grand Final, triple trapeze etc. (Enmore Theatre)
