Wendy Sloot
Wendy Sloot is a highly experienced patternmaker with over 30 years in the fashion industry. A graduate of the University of Technology Sydney, where she completed a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion and Textile Design, Wendy quickly established herself within Sydney’s fashion community as a skilled and versatile technical specialist.
Throughout her career, Wendy has collaborated with a diverse range of designers across tailoring, millinery, lingerie, corsetry and bridalwear. Her expertise has also extended to commissioned costume work for marketing campaigns and film, reflecting both her technical precision and creative adaptability.
Wendy began her teaching career while living in Perth, delivering short courses at Central TAFE. She has since supported students in developing strong foundational and specialist skills in patternmaking, sewing, corsetry and lingerie construction, guiding them with clarity and practical insight drawn from extensive industry experience.
Today, Wendy continues to explore her passion for craftsmanship through the creation of bespoke garments made from Japanese kimono, driven by a deep appreciation for the reuse and preservation of beautiful vintage textiles.
