Silky Shapes Studio
Yegana Jafarova
I am originally from Azerbaijan and currently live close to the harbour and beaches of Sydney, Australia, which provides endless inspiration. Having quit my job as an Environmental Scientist, my decade-old hobby and passion for pottery have become my main occupation. I’ve been teaching pottery and making my art full time for the last 7 years.
I love working with various clays, testing their limits and being tested by them. As my practice evolves, various surface decoration techniques, alterations of wheel-thrown pieces and botanical motifs all find their place in my work.
