Leo Townsend

Leo Townsend is a Sydney-based freelance cinematographer who has worked in the industry since 2009. With a keen eye for detail, lighting and composition Leo holds the key traits any videographer and director of photography needs: patience, resourcefulness and creativity. 

After completing an Advanced Diploma in Film/Television at Randwick TAFE, Leo worked as an in-house lighting-camera operator at an agency for 5 years, producing branded content and television commercials. Since going freelance, he has enjoyed adding major clients to his resume including Cricket Australia, Tag Heuer and Adidas. He has worked in the lighting and camera department on music videos, short films, documentaries and online ads. 

Leo has experienced the DSLR revolution first-hand and is keen to share his knowledge on how to get the most out of your camera through a mix of theory and practical exercises.
