Keith Armitage has spent his whole life as a professional musician, entertainer and songwriter and in 2001 songs from his debut CD won him the Rudy Brandsma award which is awarded by the Australian Songwriters Association to the most outstanding songwriter of the year in their National Songwriting Competition.

Keith discovered, when trying to promote his CD, that there weren’t many places to play live original music and so 12 years ago he started Songwriters Live Australia which to this day he still runs in three venues a week, showcasing 40-50 emerging songwriters a month. Over the years he has hosted hundreds of songwriters including Angus and Julia Stone, Troy Cassar Daley, James Blundell, Rick Price and many more.

Keith also started SongCamp, a weekend workshop retreat for songwriters to learn the craft and enlisted the help of high profile songwriters such as Rick Price, Brian Cadd, Beccy Cole and many more.
