Programme Coordinator

We are looking for someone who can commit at least three days per week to join our small but efficient programming team. The position title is Programme Coordinator and reports directly to the Director of Programming and Operations.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Programming and Operations, essential duties and responsibilities include the following: 

  • Provide the day-to-day coordination and direction for a defined group of College tutors;
  • Liaise with College staff to disseminate information regarding programme objectives and to ensure that programme goals are met;
  • Ensure the needs of students are best served through learning principles and the delivery environment;
  • Schedule existing courses and recommend implementation of additional courses;
  • Advise the Director of Programming and Operations on programming matters;
  • Review and monitor individual class budgets;
  • Analyse data from questionnaires, interviews, and group discussions to evaluate the needs of educational and other programs;
  • Prepare publicity to promote College courses and activities;
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities for a defined group of College tutors in accordance with the College's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, recruiting and, where necessary, training these people;
  • Addressing complaints and feedback and resolving problems related to short course programmes and, where required, do so in conjunction with the Director of Programming and Operations;  

Position objectives

Work effectively to achieve the College budget by:

  • Continuously monitoring and marketing individual programmes;
  • Reviewing past programmes for quality improvements especially survey results;
  • Effectively research the student and course management system (onCourse) to improve course offerings;
  • Continuously improve the course and programme descriptions to gain the best results for Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
  • Ability to effectively present information to the senior management team, and/or the College Board of Directors  

Key selection criteria

Essential

  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Proven ability to work within a functioning team environment;
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of projects or programmes that involve multiple stakeholders and/or deliverers;
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and other community stakeholders;
  • Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and/or the College Board of Directors.   

Desirable

  • An understanding of the adult learning environment and its core principles;
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting, or working for, community-focused organisations/groups;
  • Proven ability to manage contracts with external deliverers and third-party delivery organisations.
