Are you looking to start a career in retail, hospitality or a customer-related service? Are you over the age of 15 and have left school and do not intend to return? Are you an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia or a New Zealand citizen? Are you living with disability and have low to medium support needs?

This fee-free NSW Government-subsidised course provides you with the training to achieve a nationally recognised and important set of transferable skills needed to provide quality customer service experiences for clients and customers. From retail and hospitality to administration and office management, you will gain industry knowledge and know-how and learn how to provide quality service for your employment journey. 

What will you learn?

During this course, the following units of competency will be delivered and assessed:

  • SIRXIND001 Work effectively in a service environment;
  • SIRXCEG001 Engage with the customer;
  • HLTSS00065 Comply with infection prevention and control policies and procedures;
  • BSBWOR202 Organise and complete daily work activities;
  • Non-accredited unit Vocational pathways.

When and where is it held?

Wednesdays and Thursdays 9.30 am to 2:30 pm, commencing Wednesday 17th March 2021 and finishing Thursday 6th May 2021.

The course is held at our Rozelle Campus (2A Gordon Street, Rozelle NSW 2039).

Eligibility criteria for this course

  • Must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen and can provide evidence such as a Passport, Citizenship Certificate or Green Medicare Card and,
  • Must be between over 15 years old and can provide evidence such as a passport, birth certificate, driver's licence and,
  • Must have left school and do not intend to return and,
  • Is someone with a disability with low to medium support needs and can provide evidence confirming disability from a medical practitioner or health professional or government agency.
  • Is someone who is experiencing significant hardship as verified by a government agency, medical professional or support agency

This training is funded by the NSW Government and is free to eligible participants. Please be aware that strict eligibility criteria apply and numbers are capped at 12. Fill out the application to check your eligibility and the evidence required to be furnished by you to support your eligibility. The College will then contact eligible students for more information. Please note also successful applicants will need to apply for and gain a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
