Course description

Learn indoor rock climbing in Sydney.

Get in touch with your innate ability to climb. Climbing is a dynamic sport, a unique combination of the physical and the mental. This is a fun and exciting course where you will be introduced to all the safety knowledge required for climbing. You will be shown strategies to improve, guide and advance your climbing abilities.

This introductory course could lead you to outdoor rock climbing, or a new way to workout and meet people. The class size is limited so enrol early.

Students have the option of choosing from two venues:

1. Sydney Indoor Climbing Gym - St Peters
2. The Ledge Climbing Centre - University of Sydney, Camperdown

  • Enrolment covers your harness, climbing shoes and centre entry. Students are entitled for unlimited climbing after the class *

If you want to learn Indoor Climbing in Sydney, then this course is for you.

Course content

During this course the intention is that the following topics will be covered, but not necessarily in the order given.

  • Perform warm up and stretching exercises;
  • Learn the various safe climbing techniques – eg. slab, traversing, bouldering, steep climbing;
  • Practice the safe climbing techniques.

By the end of this course you will have:

  • learned to warm up and stretch correctly;
  • learned various safe climbing skills and techniques;
  • applied safe climbing skills and techniques in climbing exercises.

  • Participants must be 18 years or over
  • Please wear track pants or shorts and T-shirt
