Course description

Learn how to make your own concrete planters in Sydney.

Join this fun and hands-on workshop to learn the basics of concrete making. It’ll open up a whole world of possibilities to create jewellery, furniture and other homewares.

You’ll learn how to make concrete planters from scratch, to suit any plant and add creative green elements to your home or workspace. Using contemporary styles such as the marble effect, you’ll also learn how to decorate a pre-made planter to take home as well.

Anyone who loves plants, wants to get their hands dirty and be creative.

Course content
  • Step-by-step instruction on how to mix concrete from scratch
  • Moulds and their usage
  • Colouring and decorating effects including marble effect
  • How to apply these skills to other crafts such as jewellery, homewares and furniture making
Learning outcomes

After this fun workshop you will:

  • know the principles of concrete making
  • have practiced different decorating effects
  • bring home three concrete planters: two that you have made yourself and one pre-made pot that you have decorated.
What we provide
  • Concrete, paints and all materials needed to make and decorate
  • Re-usable moulds to make more pots at home
  • One small succulent for one of your pots
We encourage you to bring
  • A box to transport your beautiful concrete planters safely
  • Closed-in shoes required
  • Bring an apron and/or old clothes you don’t mind getting a bit dirty.
