Learn to take breathtaking photos with our photography courses in Sydney.

iPhoneography is the art of creating professional-looking, styled photographs with an Apple iPhone. This is a form of mobile photography that differs from all other forms of digital photography. Images are both shot and processed on the iOS device. This course is suitable for all iPhone versions from iPhone 4 to iPhone X

iPhone shots have won photojournalism prizes for coverage of the war in Afghanistan, have been used by the New York Times on Instagram, and have their own international awards: The iPhone Photography Awards (IPPAWARDS), some professional photographers even specialise in iPhonography and hold iPhonography exhibitions.

This iPhoneography workshop covers basic functions of using the iPhone camera:

  • Angle
  • Focus
  • Exposure
  • HDR
  • Flash
  • The editing functions (exposure, brightness, black and white, cropping etc.)
  • Filters
  • How to curate your images on social media
  • Photography apps

Everything you need to dominate the world of iPhone photography is in this course.

Please note that we currently offer two types of courses – classroom and live online via zoom platform. If you choose our live online option, a material kit with all necessary items will be delivered to your doorstep after enrolment.

Outcomes

By the end of this workshop you will be able to:

  • take professional-looking and creative photos with an iPhone
  • edit photos with an iPhone
  • upload and curate images on social media

Course content

  • iPhone camera operations – focus, exposure, HDR, flash and filters
  • Photography tricks for professional-looking photos, including great-looking "selfies"
  • Editing functions – cropping, exposure adjustments, brightness, black and white, etc.
  • Social media access and uploads

About your tutor

Richard has a long history in photography integrating through careers in the creative field of landscape design, to consultancy operations in the training and assessment industry, and with a recent qualification in Photography — Diploma of Photoimaging — to ensure professional currency in industry developments.

As a photographer in Fine Arts and Street photography Richard has exhibited in 2014 in the Rocks in Sydney, and in the HeadOn Festival in 2015 as an exhibitor in the inaugural Sydney Street Photographers exhibition ‘Urban Collective’. Urban Collective is the social movement now established as the primary exhibition arm of Street Photography in Australia.
