Course description

A one-day workshop designed to give you some basic knowledge of car maintenance and a must for the car owner. Learn simple strategies to keep your car on the road and save on costly repairs through general care and maintenance.

If you want to learn about Motor Maintenance in Sydney, then this course is for you.

*NOTE: This course is not a replacement for servicing your car, and does not teach you how to be a mechanic.


During this course the intention is that the following topics will be covered, but not necessarily in the order given:

  • How the engine works
  • Body & maintenance
  • How to change a tire
  • Replace windscreen wiper blades
  • Changing a lightglobe


The intended Learning Outcomes for this course are as follows.

  • Describe major parts of the motor vehicle
  • Demonstrate an ability to communicate in relation to the motor vehicle and its components
  • Solve a problem which exists with the motor vehicle
  • Organise the motor vehicle maintenance schedule

  • A paper and a pen
  • Please wear closed shoes
  • Please wear old clothes
