Course description

Learn to speak Greek in Sydney with this Level 2 continuer’s course.

Whether you want to learn Greek language for business, travel or just for fun, you’ll take your skills to the next level with this informal, practical and interactive course in the Sydney CBD.

This Level 2 course will consolidate what you have learned and help you expand your vocabulary, grammar and understanding of the language. The course provides new situational topics to give you a wider vocabulary and plenty of speaking and listening practice.

Ideal for

Students who have a basic understanding of Greek, or who have completed approximately 20 hours of previous learning (for example ‘Learn Greek for Beginners’)


By the end of this class you will have learned how to:

  • talk about your habits, daily routines and activities
  • understand schedules, timetables and time
  • express yourself using the appropriate past, present and future tense
  • order and talk about food and drinks in bars and restaurants
  • ask for and provide directions on how to get to different locations
  • describe towns and places and what you like or dislike about them
  • talk about past experiences, using the past tense
  • talk about skills and talents and discuss people’s strengths and weaknesses
  • speak more confidently with better pronunciation and extended vocabulary

The curriculum may be adapted slightly to suit the needs of the class. The topics above will be covered during this course, but not necessarily in the order given.

The textbook costs approximately $165, and comes with a student workbook. You may also choose to buy the accompanying CD, with audio files for home study and practise.

You can purchase the textbook from Abbeys Bookstore (131 York Street, Sydney). It is close to the CBD campus and offers a 10% discount to Sydney Community College students.

Please bring your textbook, a notebook and pen to every class.

Please note: sometimes a course start date is postponed until there are enough enrolments. It is therefore wise to purchase your textbook after your course has been confirmed (usually within three working days of the proposed start).
