Course description

Learn to speak Korean in Sydney with this Level 2 continuer’s class.

Whether you want to learn Korean language for business, travel or just for fun, you’ll take your skills to the next level with this informal, practical and interactive course in the Sydney CBD.

This Level 2 course will consolidate what you have learned and help you expand your vocabulary, grammar and understanding of the language. The course provides new situational topics to give you a wider vocabulary and opportunities for further speaking, listening and reading.

This course is suitable for:
Students who have completed approximately 20 hours of previous learning in Korean, for example ‘Korean Level 1’.

Learning objectives

By the end of this Korean Level 2 Class you will have learned how to:

  • discuss the foods you like, your favourite films, etc
  • talk about daily and weekly routines
  • describe past events and future plans
  • ask and answer simple questions about experiences
  • talk about the location of things
  • ask where people are going and why
  • talk about transportation
  • talk about right and wrong
  • ask for and give directions
  • create simple sentences and further build on your basic grammar
  • speak more confidently with correct pronunciation and extended vocabulary.

The curriculum may be adapted slightly to suit the needs of the class. The topics above will be covered during this course, but not necessarily in the order given.

The textbook costs approximately $60, including a grammar book and audio CD.

You can purchase the textbook from Abbeys Bookstore (131 York Street, Sydney). It is close to the CBD campus and offers a 10% discount to Sydney Community College students.

Please note: sometimes a course start date is postponed until there are enough enrolments. It is therefore wise to purchase your textbook after your course has been confirmed (usually within three working days of the proposed start).

What to bring to class

Please bring your textbook, a notebook and pen to every class.
