Join these indoor climbing classes, and get in touch with your innate ability to climb! Indoor rock climbing is a dynamic sport, a unique combination of the physical and the mental. This is a fun and exciting rock climbing course for beginners, where you will be introduced to all the safety knowledge required for climbing. During these Indoor rock climbing lessons in Sydney, you will be shown strategies to improve, guide and advance your climbing abilities. With options available at the St. Peters climbing gym, and the Univerity of Sydney gym, there are classes for you that will not be only fun, but convenient!

This introductory course could lead you to outdoor rock climbing, or a new way to work out and meet people. The class size is limited so enrol early.

Students have the option of choosing from two venues:

1. Sydney Indoor Climbing Gym - St Peters
2. The Ledge Climbing Centre - University of Sydney, Camperdown

Enrolment covers your harness, climbing shoes and centre entry. Students are entitled to unlimited climbing after the class

Outcomes

By the end of this indoor rock climbing course you will have:

  • learned to warm up and stretch correctly;
  • learned various safe climbing skills and techniques;
  • applied safe climbing skills and techniques in climbing exercises.

Ideal for

Our indoor rock climbing classes are ideal for:

  • Students who have never done indoor rock climbing before
  • Climbers with some experience who want to brush up on the basics

Course content

During this indoor rock climbing course, the intention is that the following topics will be covered, but not necessarily in the order given.

  • Perform warm-up and stretching exercises;
  • Learn the various safe climbing techniques – eg. slab, traversing, bouldering, steep climbing;
  • Practice the safe climbing techniques.

Other information

  • Participants must be 18 years or over
  • Please wear track pants or shorts and a T-shirt

Our sports courses are designed to be fun and keep you healthy. A sensible step before you start is to complete a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q).
