Course content

This children’s wear course covers:

Introduction to children’s wear: safety, comfort, and design considerations.
Fabric and pattern selection: choosing materials suitable for babies, toddlers, and kids.
Working with ready-made patterns: how to adapt for skill levels.
Project work:
- Baby swaddles, throws, and beanies.
- Head bows, caps, and accessories.
- Simple dresses, skirts, shirts, and pants.
Sewing techniques: seams, hems, closures, and finishes for durability.
Personalisation: trims, applique, and design flourishes.
Tips for fit, scaling up, and adapting patterns as children grow.
