Irena Conomos brings a wealth of experience teaching photography from the beginner level to more advanced students. Irena has years of experience teaching photography to at high schools, TAFE, the Australian Centre for Photography, Macquarie University and Sydney Community College. Irena also works as a freelance photographer with interests in portraiture and documenting artworks for many artists and galleries.
An award-winning photographer, Irena has collected many awards, including winner 'Best Digital Work' at Kodak Salon. Here, she also picked up the 'Excellence in Colour’ award. Other notable achievements are her selection for the 'Project Wall' at the Australian Centre for Photography, works in Sydney Fringe Festival and installation work in ‘Hidden’ at Rookwood Cemetery, plus exhibitions at local and interstate galleries, and work in private collections.
Her own creative practise involves studio work and observations of everyday life. With training in both the technical and fine art side of photography, Irena's teaching style combines these two elements. Her classes are relaxed, fun & interactive.
