About Gary Cunliffe

Gary Cunliffe is an award-winning creative director and educator with more than 30 years’ experience working across advertising, brand strategy and digital communications. Over the course of his career he has led creative teams and developed campaigns for some of the world’s most recognised brands, including Toyota, BMW, IBM, Qantas, Westpac, Telstra and American Express.

Gary’s work spans television, print, digital media and brand identity, and he has held senior creative roles in leading international agencies including Saatchi & Saatchi, Leo Burnett and Ogilvy. As Creative Director at the production studio Mammal, he oversaw campaigns and content for clients such as Channel 9, Microsoft, Kellogg’s and McCafé, combining strong strategic thinking with clear and effective storytelling.

Alongside his industry career, Gary is an experienced educator. He currently teaches graphic design at TAFE NSW’s Design Centre Enmore, delivering Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma programs. His teaching focuses on helping students translate creative thinking into practical skills that can be applied in real business contexts.

Gary holds a Diploma in Graphic Design and an Advanced Diploma in Advertising, as well as the TAE40116 Certificate IV and TAE50122 Diploma in Training and Assessment. His classes combine real-world industry experience with practical exercises that help participants clarify their ideas and communicate them with confidence.
