Paul Toro
Paul is the founder and lecturer of Sydney Philosophy Symposia, and holds degrees in Anthropology, Philosophy, and the History of Science. He teaches Creativity and Innovation at Macquarie University, where he has been nominated for The Students’ Choice Award for Outstanding Contributions to Education and Student Experience, and has received recognition for teaching excellence in the Department of Management.
Paul is a vibrant and passionate teacher, whose teaching style freely blends poetic, artistic, and scientific perspectives with the profound questions of philosophy. His courses invite open dialogue, creative interpretation, playfulness and humour. He does his utmost to cultivate a spontaneous atmosphere that is both deep and deeply entertaining, and encourages the free personal growth of individuals as much as the inclusive interpersonal connections between them.
In his personal life, Paul plays the Spanish guitar, and is father to a kinetically indefatigable baby girl he is currently teaching how to skateboard.
