Alicia Adam
Alicia is the founder of Powerfully Human and a psychotherapist dedicated to supporting people as they explore the darker, more painful parts of themselves. She is a clinically registered psychotherapist with PACFA and holds a Master’s degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Alicia does not believe people are broken or in need of fixing. She believes that being human means needing support to navigate the painful parts of life. When space is held for this pain, its purpose can be understood, and learned from. Pain, she believes, is not something to eliminate, but something that can be harnessed.
In the therapy room, Alicia works as a facilitator, space-holder, and creative, informed by all parts of her knowledge and lived experience. She is currently studying a range of somatic-based therapeutic and support practices and is engaging with Dr Jenn’s services to deepen and strengthen her practice of decolonising therapy.
When Alicia shows up in her work, she does so authentically and wholly and invites those she works with to do the same.
