Learn how to make vessels and sculpture using random weave techniques at this workshop in Sydney.

Join sculptor Cherry Corr for a fun and relaxing class learning how to twist and form your own random weaving using only garden waste and natural materials. That’s right – the materials for this class are entirely collected from plants in the area. You’ll be using just a few simple tools, some easy to learn techniques – plus a little clever engineering – to create functional, sculptural forms celebrating the natural beauty of plants.

  • a brief history of random weaving and how it differs from other basketry techniques
  • an understanding of the structural and decorative elements of random weave
