Melissa Fitzgerald
Starting my career in the mid-90s working in both healthcare and mainstream advertising, I was taught by the highest standard of industry leaders to craft work on high profile brands including Nokia, Energy Australia, Optus, Daewoo, Gatorade and Hamilton Island. Freelancing for more than four years I worked in publishing, packaging and corporate design, eventually leading me to make a permanent move into the corporate space where I have worked on Westpac, Commonwealth Bank, AMP and more than 20 brands under the IOOF umbrella.
Writing and teaching courses at Sydney Community College has meant I maintain a constant practice of design research and well as keeping my skills current for the benefit of my work practice and participants.
My ideal next role would allow me to combine my extensive design and design education experience to enhance process efficiencies in order to provide more time to create amazing design experiences. I also love guiding others, whether they be designers, stakeholders, clients or other team members through this process. With a passion for problem-solving, I like to eliminate the unnecessary in order to create clear, clean, concise and well crafted internal and external communications. As an advocate of skill-sharing, I love collaborating in order to achieve premium results.
I think and I make! I also like to have fun in the process!
