Course description

Self Managed Superannuation Fund course in Sydney.

Self Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSF) must be run for the sole purpose of providing retirement benefits for the members or their dependants and as an investment vehicle, they are not for everyone. If you set up a self-managed super fund (SMSF), you’re in charge – you make the investment decisions for the fund and you’re held responsible for complying with the super and tax laws. It’s a major financial decision and you need to have the time and skills to do it. There may be better options for your super savings.

Course content

In this one session seminar we will cover the following questions:

  • Is an SMSF a correct vehicle for you for retirement?
  • How much do you need as a minimum?
  • How do you correctly structure the SMSF?
  • What you can invest in and what you can’t?
  • What your responsibilities are?
Outcomes

By the end of this seminar you will have gained better understanding of:

  • how to structure your SMSF
  • how best to correctly establish your SMSF and who can and can’t be a member
  • what will the correct trustee structure be and how best to determine who the trustee of the fund will be
  • an understanding of what is and is not allowable for investment in your SMSF and how best to determine the correct exposure for investments your fund should have. Determine your Investment sector advantages and disadvantages and what control you will have over those investments
