Course description

Learn how to make delicious fresh chutneys and marinades at this cooking workshop in Sydney.

Chutneys and marinades are key to adding full flavour and fresh tang to any meal.

This workshop draws on the Indian origins of these condiments, using fresh vegetables, herbs, fruit and spices to create delicious accompaniments and marinades to meals of any cuisine.

Course content
  • How to create and use marinades to soften and add flavour before cooking meats, vegetables, fruits etc
  • How to adjust the spice level according to your preference
  • How to use spices for the best flavour combinations
  • How to make and use fresh chutneys to complement your dishes
On the menu
  • Coconut chutney
  • Fresh mint chutney
  • Tandoori marinade (for chicken)
  • Hariyali marinade

Enjoy sampling marinaded chicken and the chutneys in class, with a mango lassi and plenty of pappadums.

Please note: This course is not suitable for people who are vegetarian/vegan. We are not able to provide substitute ingredients for people with allergies.

Please come prepared
  • Bring an apron
  • Wear closed in shoes
  • If you have long hair, tie it back
  • Please bring food container/s to take home any leftovers
