Course description

Here’s a sculpture course with a difference! Learn how to twist and coil your way through those used plastic bags or fabrics to create colourful, sculptural, practical vessels from waste materials.

Feeling frustrated at all that plastic going to landfill? Wanting a creative memory keepsake from that old school shirt or Nanna’s tablecloth?

Join sculptor Cherry Corr for two relaxing evening sessions as you learn a range of techniques based on the ancient basketry process, coiling. You’ll learn how to upcycle reclaimed waste materials including plastics and old clothing to create a unique vessel.

Course testimonials:

  • Suna said: The tutor is great, creatively she is so inspiring yet so practical and hands on, can't find any better tutor than Cherry. The course itself is so addictive, we definitely have a new perspective to look at plastic bags. Though I feel we need more sessions to cover everything, will definitely recommend to people.

  • Lesley said: Cherry gave good clear instructions and was there to help when needed. The course was a little pushed over 2 nights, it could have gone for 3 nights. The group was small which was perfect for helping others. I would highly recomend this course and i hope there are more to come. I got a lot out of this course and can hardly wait to finish my basket and start another.
