Course description

Want to be swept away for a quick daytrip escape from the city, and some adventure?

These day treks are perfect for those who are busy but want to explore breathtaking natural scenery close to the city, while making new friends, in a supportive group environment! Don’t want to drive to get there? Don’t worry! We will drive you!

Sit back and relax as Urban Legends drive you, in a big brand spanking new shuttle bus, to discover some beautiful day hikes in the city’s own backyard with a professional guide, and learn all the top hiking tips!

Each trek has been selected to take you on a challenging beginner-level hike through gorgeous scenery, to a stunning end location!

The information covered will include wilderness skills such as:

  • Trekking skills
  • Safety in the outdoors including some basic first aid tips and how to avoid getting lost
  • Tips on some good trails, how to identify them and where to find more!
  • Packing – what to take and how to pack light!
  • Bushwalking with minimal environmental impact

You will be picked up from Central Station, Sydney by Urban Legends
brand new tour bus, and swept away to a stunning adventure awaiting you in one of Sydney’s incredible National Parks.

1. Royal National Park 1 – Garie Beach to Wattamolla return, 12km approximate distance

Starting from Garie Beach, we shall walk along the stunning coastal track towards Wattamolla! This is one of the most inspiring walks in NSW. The Royal National Park is the oldest national park in Australia and a very special region. We shall make time to have plenty of rest stops and photo opportunities along the walk. Passing by Eagle Rock Lookout, the famous rock formation we continue to Wattamolla picnic area, a great spot for a refreshing swim. We shall have our longer break here and then return back to Garie Beach for final photos and a drink at the beach kiosk.

2. Bobbin Head Loop Track -10km approximate distance

Discover the beautiful areas within Ku-ring-gai Chase including Cowan Creek and Bobbin Head! Starting from the historic Sphinx memorial in North Turramurra we wind our way down to the water and to Bobbin Head. Bobbin Head is absolutely picturesque and we shall have a rest stop here at one of the cafes by the water. After a rest there is the option to continue a couple of kilometres further around to see Apple Tree Bay before we walk back up the firet rail back to the Sphinx Memorial.

3. Royal National Park 2 - Bundeena to Marley Head Loop – 11km approximate distance

The Royal National Park offers a multitude of epic day walks! The Royal National Park is the oldest national park in Australia and a very special region. Starting from the small town of Bundeena we head south along the track where the environment changes from heath to open, rocky platforms along the cliffs. The views are great from Marley Beach and the section between Marley Beach and Bundeena lookout is spectacular. There is plenty of wildlife to spot as well. As usual we make time to have plenty of rest stops to soak in the views and have photo opportunities.

Important information:
  • Please complete the Physical Activity Readiness Self Assessment Form attached below to determine your own suitablity for these walks. If you have any questions, please chat with us through the website or call 8752 7555 during business hours.
  • Participants will be sent a kit list of mandatory kit they shall need to bring on the walks, e.g. including items such as a Basic First Aid Kit, suitable outdoor clothing and equipment, sufficient water for the day etc. A kit check shall be carried out at the start of each walk. Participants shall be required to bring their own lunch, snacks and water.
