Course description

Digital photography and image making class for people with an NDIS package in Sydney

In this exciting program participants will learn how to create exciting digital compositions and take photographs on a range of devices including cameras, iPads and smart phones. Participants will use Apps, as well as Photoshop and iPhoto on computers to build up a range of exciting digital images.

Extend your skills and learn about such aperture, long exposure, time lapse, light painting and Micro/macro scale.

Discover the endless potential through by experimenting with composition, tone shape and colour. And explore how photography has been used by different artist over time to look at the world around in new ways.

Course content
  • Experiment with phtomaking methods and techniques
  • Participate in a creative experience
  • Work towards a completed artwork
  • Learn about different digital image making methods
  • Learn about the history of art
  • Appreciate looking at and reading an artwork
  • Research art making methods
  • Attend research outings to a gallery or art museum
  • Take photos and develop other visual images
  • To meet others and socialise in a supportive environment.

By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Use digital devices to take photographs and create images
  • Have a complete and resolved work.
  • Increase skills in concentration, dexterity and awareness of tone, colour, shape and form.
  • Research image making methods.
Other information
  • Bring your own lunch/snacks/water.
  • This course involves participation in group work and classroom based discussion and activities
  • Students would ideally need to bring in their own digital device to use in class. An iPad is the preferred device, however other tablets, iPhones can also be used
