Learn how to play beginner level tennis for women with our tennis courses in Sydney.

If you have two hours spare a week and are looking to pick up tennis, then this could be the course for you! In this course, you will join other womens tennis beginners and be taught by highly-qualified, home-grown and overseas teaching professionals. Enjoy a fun, active learning environment catered to the beginner to pick up the fundamentals.

If you want to learn or improve your game then these classes are perfect for you!

Course outcomes

  • Participate and practice in group-based tennis drills, games and technique changes.
  • Learn & practice the correct grips & techniques for the forehand, backhand, serve & volley.
  • Be introduced to the ready position, backswing, swing to the ball, contact, follow-through and recovery.
  • Rally the ball backwards and forwards over the net with other players.
  • Develop footwork, movement and recovery on the court for all strokes.
  • Learn the scoring system, rules of tennis and how to put these together to play a proper scoring game.

Ideal for

Women who have minimal coaching and playing experience and are wanting to improve their fitness & learn how to turn a interest in tennis into a passion.

Additional Course Information

  • Child minding is available for your convenience at $12 per hour for each child with second child discounts available. Please email juniors@fourseasonstennis.com.au to book child-minding at least 24 hours prior to your class.
  • If you are worried the weather may cancel the class from going ahead, please ring 0458405441 to talk to Cato. Classes washed out will be made up on the same day and time a week later, subject to availability.
  • Attendance must be across consecutive weeks on the same day and session time each week. Once a booking has been confirmed, no-shows or cancellations void the class and no rescheduling is allowed.
  • Class sizes range from four to six players.
  • Bring your own racquet if you have one, or use one of our schools racquets for free. New tennis racquets are always available at our venues for purchase at affordable prices.
  • Wear comfortable clothing of any colour and sports or running shoes. Bring a water bottle and a hat for day time classes. If you need to change clothes the coaches on duty will direct you where you can do so. You can bring your bag onto the court.
  • Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your class start time if you are visiting us for the first time. If you have visited us before get there 5 minutes prior. When you arrive, walk through the gate and up the pathway to court number 5.

Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q)

Our sports courses are designed to be fun and keep you healthy. A sensible step before you start is to complete a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q).
PAR-Q is a self-screening tool that should be used by anyone planning to increase their physical activity. PAR-Q is designed to help you help yourself. It is a sensible first step if you are planning to increase your physical activity by enrolling in this course.

FYI: Each class is 90 minutes in duration. Ladies are coached with 3-5 other ladies of a similar skill level and assigned their own dedicated tennis professional and court.
