Course description

Two left feet are our speciality. This easy to learn dance will have you on the dance floor in no time. The music is contagious and you will have so much fun with the steps. This Rock ‘n’ Roll/Swing course will build your confidence and self esteem as well as teach you a simple routine, rhythm and how to lead and follow.

If you want to learn Rock ‘n’ Roll/Swing in Sydney, then this course is for you.

*NOTE: Beginners will start at 7pm // Continuing will start at 8pm

  • Beginners is for complete beginners.
  • Continuing is for those who have completed a beginners course or danced previously and are confident to continue to the next level.

Agenda

During this course the intention is that the following topics will be covered, but not necessarily in the order given. Due to the variable nature of Adult Education classes, parts of the curriculum may be adapted to suit the needs of the class.

  • Gain confidence
  • Obtain rhythm
  • Learn a series of steps and have a routine accomplished by the end of six weeks
  • Gain co-ordination and fitness

Objectives

The intended Learning Outcomes for this course are as follows.

By the end of the course students will have:

  • Learned rhythm and timing
  • Learn the frame and steps
  • Put a simple routine together
  • Gained confidence
  • Gained fitness and fun
  • Gained a musical interpretation (appreciation and understanding of music to the dance style)

Concord Presbyterian Church Hall, corner of Concord Road and Correys Avenue, Concord.

Other Information

Dress in comfortable clothing and wear shoes to suit the styles chosen: Joggers or Jazz shoes (soft flexible shoes).
