Be introduced to the art of Wheel Throwing in our new Pottery & Ceramics Taster Workshop: Give Throw a Go in Sydney.

This fun and creative workshop will teach you the very basics of wheel throwing and the ceramic process.

Here you can learn the foundation of wheel throwing from start to finish. After a brief introduction, you will get hands-on by throwing a lump of clay onto the wheel. We will guide you with verbal instructions and the aid of visual reference to create your vessel on the wheel. While you are working on your piece, we will also explain how we trim by ‘finishing off the bottom of their pieces’ for you as well as the firing process.

You will be able to make several pieces in this short lesson and at the end of this taster workshop, you can choose what colour glaze you would like your final piece to be. The choices are clear, white, pink and black. This workshop includes the glazing and firing of one piece, any extra pieces are available for $10 each if you wish.

Please note, your tutor will notify you on when to return to collect your pieces. It will approximately take two to four weeks to ensure work is fired properly.
