Online Workshop: Introduction to Podcasting

What you'll learn

Learn how to start a podcast with our online film, video & audio short courses from Sydney!

So you’ve got a great story to tell? Before you hit “Record”, there’s a whole lot of planning and prep you can do to make sure your podcast stands out from the crowd.

Join this online workshop for a comprehensive intro to podcasting and short audio recording. You’ll learn how to plan for a successful podcast as well as good recording techniques and post-recording editing to deliver a compelling audio package to your listeners.

In this introductory presentation to podcasting and short audio recording, you’ll look at what makes an audio recording a podcast. Although there are no “rules” for podcasting, after 30 years of recordings being distributed electronically, there are some standard features you’ll want to include to make a successful podcast.

You will also learn about podcast structure and format, good microphone practice to get a clean recording, as well as post-production editing to bring it all together.

The ability to make professional-level recordings has never been easier. But it helps if you know how to ensure a production quality that’s kind to the listener’s ears. We will look at the equipment and software you need, whether for your personal use or as a part of your work.

This workshop lays the foundations to get you started - from an initial idea to a quality show or recording.
