Join Accredited Practicing Dietitian Amber Sewell-Green as she guides you through five weeks of intensive and interactive mindful eating classes holistically designed for you to master your mindset around food.

With so much of our work, leisure, study and eating environments recently overlapping, now’s a great time to gain control of your eating. This course will provide you with tools and techniques to find a more harmonious mind-body relationship, and understand what, when and how you need to eat.

The first step is mindfulness. The added scientific benefits of mindfulness techniques also include stress reduction and eating in a way that may even boost your immune system too!

Course content

Mindfulness foundations
  • Learn how food and mood inter-relate, with the latest studies and gut-brain science.
  • The philosophy of mindfulness: core principles, plus tips and virtual mindfulness meditations to put it all into practice.
Break free from zombie eating
  • Is food a reward system that is no longer serving you? Discover how to defy your non-hungry eating triggers and how to break the cycle of mindless zombie eating.
  • Explore the history of your food habits to discover how to create an environment that makes mind-body harmony the easy option.
Tuning into your appetite
  • How to recognise your body’s unique appetite signals. Move away from practices such as calorie counting to focus on listening to your body’s innate wisdom.
  • Explore the subtle cues to stop, start and keep eating; how to distinguish hunger, fullness and satiety.
More mood managers
  • A deeper look into why we eat in response to unpleasant emotions such as boredom, stress and anxiety – which can rule even the best healthy eating intentions.
  • The underlying psychology of emotional eating; cognitive techniques and mindful eating apps to help you unwrap the messages from your body packaged as intense food craving.
Combat cravings and re-wire your brain
  • Exploring why food cravings occur and practices to help you make more nutritious and mindful food choices.
  • Be guided through an introduction to emotional freedom technique (EFT). This is a scientifically recognised technique, also known as ‘tapping’, shown in brain MRI studies to help re-wire the brain towards more positive habits.

The interactive live online course will be delivered via Zoom with a small class group.
