Join Accredited Practicing Dietitian Amber Sewell-Green as she guides you through five weeks of intensive and interactive mindful eating classes holistically designed for you to master your mindset around food.

With so much of our work, leisure, study and eating environments recently overlapping, now’s a great time to gain harmony with your eating. This course will provide you with evidence based psychology tools and techniques to find a more balanced mind-body relationship. You’ll learn how to listen to your body’s unique appetite and eating cues to understand what, when and how to eat.

  • How food affects your mood – the latest in mood and gut-brain science, recent food mood studies
  • What you can eat to promote a calmer, happier mindset

Mindfulness foundations
  • Understand the foundations on mindful eating and the scientific benefits this has for a healthy body and mind
  • The philosophy of mindfulness: core principles, plus tips and virtual mindfulness meditations to put it all into practice
  • Practical intuitive eating exercises
Tuning into your appetite
  • How to recognise your body’s unique appetite signals. Move away from practices such as calorie counting to focus on listening to your body’s innate wisdom.
  • Explore the subtle cues to stop, start and keep eating; how to distinguish hunger, fullness and satiety
  • Tips on creating a supportive environment and overcoming barriers to change
Marvellous mood managers
  • A deeper look into why we eat in response to unpleasant emotions such as boredom, stress and anxiety
  • The underlying psychology of emotional eating
  • Cognitive techniques and mindful eating apps to help you unwrap the messages from your body packaged as non-hungry food cravings
Combat cravings and re-wire your brain
  • Exploring why food cravings occur and practices to help you make more nutritious and mindful food choices
  • Be guided through an introduction to emotional freedom technique (EFT). This is a scientifically recognised technique, also known as ‘tapping’, shown in brain MRI studies to help re-wire the brain towards more positive habits.

This interactive live online course will be delivered via Zoom with a small class group.
