Course description

Learn to speak Indonesian in Sydney with this Level 4 continuer’s class.

Whether you want to learn Indonesian language for work, travel or just for fun, you’ll take your skills to the next level with this informal, practical and interactive course in the Sydney CBD.

This Level 4 course will consolidate what you have learned and help you further expand your vocabulary and understanding of Bahasa Indonesia, including a deeper knowledge of practical grammar using the Grammar book listed. The course provides new situational topics to give you a wider vocabulary and plenty of speaking and listening practice as well as introducing some native language materials such as song lyrics, and short videos.

This course is suitable for:
Students who have completed approximately 60 hours of previous learning in Indonesian, for example SCC’s Indonesian Level 3 or equivalent. This may include some in-country study or experience with Indonesian.

We will be embarking on Keren Indonesian Course Book 2.

Learning objectives

By the end of this Indonesian Level 4 Class you will have learned how to:

  • use more advanced conversational skills in everyday situations at work and home
  • discuss and describe the home, home life and possessions
  • discuss travel, place and time in more details
  • increase your ability to discuss food and to order in restaurants
  • talk about health and illness

The curriculum may be adapted slightly to suit the needs of the class and the speed through which we work through the text. The topics above will be covered during this course, but not necessarily in the order given.

Please note: sometimes a course start date is postponed until there are enough enrolments. It is therefore wise to purchase your textbook after your course has been confirmed (usually within three working days of the proposed start).

What to bring to class

Please bring your textbook, a notebook and pen to every class. Students will continuing to work through Keren Book 1 and move into Book 2.
