Kefir is a refreshing brewed drink, containing beneficial yeast and probiotics similar to those found in yoghurt. Containing antioxidants and probiotics, it’s believed to have many health benefits including improved digestion and enhanced immune function. They say to get the most out of those good bacteria you need a big old daily dose, but it can the shop-bought kefirs can be expensive and hard to find.

So if you’re a committed kefir consumer – interested in gut health for great health – come along and learn how to make it from scratch using either milk or water, plus fresh and natural ingredients. You’ll come away with your own personal creation of a 300ml flavoured kefir, a jar full of the good stuff, along with some grains to get you started at home.

  • Safe brewing techniques and sterilisation
  • The two brewing stages for kefir
  • Water kefir or milk kefir – which is right for you? (Plus make your own plant “mylk” for a non-dairy option)
  • Making your first batch
  • All about the grains – how to use and care for them
  • Storing bottled kefir

Please Note: This course uses Kefir grains, sugar, pure water, seasonal fruits and vegetables to create your own flavoured Kefir. We are not able to provide substitute ingredients for people with allergies.
