Keep developing your hand printing skills in this one-day workshop. You will print your placement designs suitable for fashion or home decoration.

This is a follow-up course to our Fabric Screen Printing: Beginners Course The material is designed for those who have completed the beginner's course to keep on learning.

Learning outcomes

It is intended that by the end of this course you should be able to: 

  • be familiar with equipment and requirements for printing
  • adapt designs for screen-printing
  • cut screen ready stencils
  • prepare and use screen printing techniques
  • print a placement design
  • be introduced to multi-colour printing techniques

Ideal for

This is a follow-up course to our Fabric Screen Printing: Beginners Course. It is required that you have finished the beginner's course before you enrol at the Intermediate level.

Course content

The intention of this fabric screen printing course is to cover the following topics, but not necessarily in the order given:

  • Appreciate the many sources of designs - how to adapt them for printing
  • Preparation and use of the screen
  • Placement prints
  • Multi-colour printing

Materials provided

  • Printing inks and most equipment supplied.

What to bring

  • Something to print on – washed and ironed - eg t-shirt, calico bag, napery, cushion cover, piece of fabric. Cotton and/or linen fabric works best
  • Masking tape (50mm wide is great)
  • An old rag for drying hands
  • Protective clothing eg apron or smock
  • A cleaning sponge (kitchen type)

Other information

  • Please wear closed-in shoes.
  • All printing materials are water-based, non-toxic and eco friendly. 
  • Drawing, cutting and printing will require a level of skill0

Corner of Gordon St & Victoria Rd, Rozelle (in the grounds of St. Joseph’s Church). If driving, no entry into Gordon Street from Victoria Road. Last block on your right before Victoria Road. Pedestrian access is opposite Prince Street.
