Course description

This course will help you get ready for work. It will improve your English, learning and other work skills so you can apply for courses and jobs with more confidence. You will get 5 units toward the Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways – a nationally recognised qualification (FSK20113)

Course details

The course runs on Fridays for 12 weeks at the following times and location:

Canterbury City Community Centre “Cottage” - 28 Croydon Street, Lakemba. 2 March to 8 June 2018 (12 sessions, no classes during school or public holidays)
9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Eligibility Criteria

This course is funded by the NSW Government’s State Training Service, ACE Community Service Obligation, Targeted Communities (

The course is FREE to people who:

  • are 15 years or older and have left school
  • live and work in NSW
  • are an Australian or New Zealand citizen; permanent resident; humanitarian visa or eligible bridging visa holder
  • have (or are willing to get) a Unique Student Identifier (
  • receive eligible Centrelink benefits
  • are not currently in receipt of other Government funded training

To discuss your eligibility for the FREE course and enrol you must attend the information session below

Please bring the following to the information session:

  • Australian passport or citizenship document or foreign passport and visa documents or travel document or Immicard
  • Centrelink card or benefits letter
  • NSW Driver’s License or NSW Photo ID
  • USI number (Unique Student Identifier)
