You have already attended our Fabric Printing course but would like to extend your skills and produce beautiful fabrics? Then this workshop is for you! Come and join this class where you will be able to create unique gifts and items for the festive season, and beyond.

 In this class, you will be able to finish off an unfinished project or start a completely new one. Turn your hobby and passion into a business or just enjoy the company of other artists.

By the end of this Fabric printing course, you should have:

  • Explored and learnt advanced fabric printing techniques
  • Complete independent projects

Course content

During this workshop, the intention is that the following topics will be supported and explored, depending on the demand of the group. Due to the variable nature of Adult Education classes, parts of the curriculum may be adapted to suit the needs of the class.

Independent projects on fabric using any or all the following techniques:

  • screen printing
  • lino block
  • found object techniques

We have designed this workshop for everyone who attended our Fabric Block Printing and would like to continue working with the guidance of a professional tutor.

Please note this is not a course for beginners.

Materials Provided

  • Printing inks supplied

What to bring to class

Equipment needed for your project, this could include the following items:

  • Drawing pad, pens, pencils etc for designing
  • Sponge roller – 100 or 150mm wide
  • 50mm wide masking tape
  • Something to print on
  • A few jars with lids for excess ink
  • An old rag for drying hands
  • Protective clothing
  • A cleaning sponge
  • A hairdryer
  • An apron or smock to protect clothing
  • rubber gloves and rags for clean up

If necessary for your project small and large sheets of “Ezy cut” stencil paper and small lino blocks will be available to purchase, as these are not included in course fees.

Other information

  • All printing materials are water-based and non-toxic
  • Please wear closed-in shoes
