There's something very special about turning just two simple ingredients, flour and eggs, into gorgeously silky smooth pasta.

Join this workshop to learn how to make authentic, fresh pasta from scratch. You'll witness the magic as cooking teacher and chef Antonella Floyd demonstrates how to make the perfect pasta dough. Then roll up your sleeves and get busy kneading, rolling and shaping your own pasta. You will also learn about the ingredients used and get plenty of tips along the way.

And let's not forget the part where you tuck in at the end of the class! We gather around the table Italian style to enjoy your freshly made pasta with the accompanying sauces. Pass the Parmesan, please!

What will be covered in this homemade pasta making course?

  • a little history on pasta, Italian flavours and ingredients used
  • the secrets and skills of making authentic fresh pasta from scratch
  • learn how to make a rich, classic Napoletana tomato pasta sauce
  • demonstration of how to make delicious quick pasta sauces
  • learn how to make fresh spinach & ricotta ravioli
  • time to relax and enjoy a delicious lunch together

Hand-crank pasta machines are provided (one per 2 participants). Or you may bring your own machine for tips on how to use and care for it.

This homemade pasta course is suitable for beginner cooks, as well as those with some cooking experience.

If driving, there is no entry into Gordon Street from Victoria Road. Last block on your right before Victoria Road. Pedestrian access is opposite Prince Street.

Additional information

  • We've cut out disposable plastics, so please bring 2-3 food containers to take any leftovers home
  • All participants must wear closed-in shoes
  • Dress appropriately for the kitchen, and tie back long hair

Accessibility: Please note there is no level access to the room for this class. Access is via approx. 20 steps.
Allergies: Please note gluten flour, eggs, beef, pork and dairy will be used.
