Cooking: Classic French Pastry

Learn how to prepare authentic French pastry at this workshop in Sydney.

During this 3.5 hour class, French Chef Pierre Gaudin will guide you through a series of classic French desserts and teach you how to present them with absolute sophistication as he has done for many years working in top restaurants in Paris and France.

On the menu
  • Pate a Choux avec Crème Patissiere au Café - Choux pastry with coffee custard cream
  • Tarte Citron et Meringue - Lemon tart with meringue
  • Ganache Chocolat aux Fruits de la Passion - Passionfruit chocolate ganache

Dinner will not be provided for this course as there is a lot to get through in the time. We advise you to arrange something to eat before you arrive but please leave room for dessert!

About the Chef

Pierre is a French Chef with 15 years experience in fine restaurants and hotels, passionate about respecting the produce and reducing wastage. Born and raised in the surrounds of Paris, Pierre has travelled and worked widely. Since 2014, he has lived in Sydney, where he has enjoyed our great native produce and vibrant coffee community.

Please note: Street parking is very limited nearby. You might try St Margaret’s Car Park at 417-435 Bourke Street, Surry Hills. It is a 5-minute walk from the venue, with casual parking rates after 5pm at approx. $4/hour.

On the day...
  • We’ve cut out disposable plastics, so please bring your own food containers to take any leftovers home
  • All participants must wear closed-in shoes – no high heels please!
  • Aprons supplied, but dress appropriately for the kitchen, and tie back long hair
  • Arrive a little early as the class will start on time
