Balancing flavours is at the heart of Thai cooking, it’s important to learn how to create a harmony of sweet, sour, bitter, salty and spice… once you understand this, Thai cooking is fun and easy!

This course is designed for those who want to have the world of this fresh, fragrant, exciting cuisine opened up to them. During this 3-hour session, you will learn 5 of the most popular Thai recipes in the western world but learn to make it all from scratch.

This course includes a sit-down meal of the recipes you create and a chilled glass of wine.

About the Chef

Growing up in Penang, Wanitha Tanasingam moved to Australia in 1982. She learned the art of cooking from her father, who he was the Head Chef of the Kedah Royal Family in Malaysia. Wanitha later started her own restaurant and cooking school. She is a real goddess of flavours and spice and with her engaging personality, her positive energy and her incredible knowledge of food she will show you the secrets of Thai cooking.

Please note: Street parking is very limited nearby. You might try St Margaret’s Car Park at 417-435 Bourke Street, Surry Hills. It is a 5-minute walk from the venue, with casual parking rates after 5pm at approx. $4/hour.

On the day...
  • We’ve cut out disposable plastics, so please bring your own food containers to take any leftovers home
  • All participants must wear closed-in shoes – no high heels please!
  • Aprons supplied, but dress appropriately for the kitchen, and tie back long hair
  • Arrive a little early as the class will start on time
