Course description

Travel photography is about creating inspiring images of places and people that serve as lasting impressions of your travel experience. Learn how to visually engage with your environment to capture the details that make a destination special. Deepen your understanding of lighting and composition to convey the right mood and energy. Taught by a commercial photographer and artist who has travelled and photographed for many years this course will broaden your skills and help you to apply your knowledge specifically to this genre.

The course is a combination of classroom based work and weekend excursions. Between two and three extra classes will be excursions on the weekend ( dates and times to be decided by the group). The classroom sessions will cover various technical and creative aspects of travel photography and introduce a range of images that are open for discussion. Each weekend field trip will be held at a different place and will focus on a different aspect of travel photography (landscape, urban and people). The group will decide the location of the excursions.

Students' work will be reviewed with constructive feedback from the class and tutor in the following session.
