Painting for Beginners

Learn how to paint with our Painting courses in Sydney.

If you’ve never painted before, or maybe you are looking to refresh your skills and knowledge, this course is for you. Join this course to learn to paint and gain real painting experience that will last a lifetime.

Gain knowledge about the different painting mediums, tools and applications. We provide well-structured lessons and a series of exercises how to paint from still life, self-portrait and more while you are developing your own style and creative potential.

You may choose to paint either in acrylics or oil. The material list has been kept simple with the view that students can upgrade their materials as the course progresses should they wish.

This course is designed to be ongoing, with students to encouraged to re-enrol as many times as they like to continue their painting learning. Your tutor will structure each session to suit all levels of experience in the group.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this course you will have:

• acquired basic painting ability
• practised in recognizing and organizing good composition
• an understanding of tone
• experience with colour mixing and ability to perceive and name warm/cool, transparent/opaque colours

Online course

Please note: The online course is a modified version of the full course, using only Acrylics. Content and learning outcomes will be reduced to suit online delivery and the shorter course duration.
